An autoreverse function activates when the present torque level
has been exceeded. Endo-Mate's torque control system combined
with the Apex Locator allows dentists and dental specialists to
perform safe and more accurate root canal preparation.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a prosthetic device, made of titanium, which
is implanted beneath the oral tissues and within the bone to provide
retention and support for a fixed or removable prosthesis. If
properly care for, many years of successful use of the dental
implant can be expected.
Dental implants provide advantages over other
conventional restorative dental works:
- Unlike conventional bridgework, dental
implants can provide tooth replacement without the need
to cut down adjacent teeth.
- Dental implants also prevent the loss
of bone in the area of the missing tooth. Replacing the
tooth with an implant restores function to the bone and
prevents the resorption of the bone.
- Dental implants can also be used
to anchor full or partial removable dentures. This provides
much greater retention and security than traditional techniques.

X-ray Machines and Film Processor
As dentistry has advanced beyond basic care into new areas such
as implantology, cosmetics, and other treatments of the entire
dento-maxillo-facial complex, so too must the diagnostic tools
keep pace with the need for a higher quality of general and specific
information. BIDC is fully equipped with our own X-ray machines
and in-house film processor. This enables our patients to get
their diagnosis results instantly and treatment plan drawn up
effectively in one visit.
Panoramic and
Cephalometric X-ray Machine
Promax panoramic digital x-ray
The latest Promax panoramic digital x-ray from Planmeca provides
its superior image quality, ease of operation and wide range of
exposure possibilities.Planmeca Promax provides anatomically correct
panoramic radiographs. The focal layer follows the scientifically
assessed form of the human jaw which results in images with clearly
superior clinical quality.

With vertical segmenting, the exposed area can be limited only
to the area of diagnostic interest. Simple selection on the main
display, and the patient dose can be reduced by up to 80% compared
to a full area panoramic exposure. This is highly advantageous
and radiation hygienic in cases where a follow-up image is needed
of a limited part of the jaw.
Advantages
of digital imaging:
- Direct digital X-ray imaging saves time as
Images appear on-screen within seconds after the exposure and
are immediately available for diagnosis anywhere in the practice
network
- Imaging process is not sensitive to external
factors like film based imaging. Since film, film processing
and darkroom are no longer needed, the most common reasons for
image retakes are eliminated.
- Digital images can be enhanced in imaging
software. This brings new opportunities in diagnostics and allows
adjustment of the image darkness and contrast if they are not
optimal in the original image.
- Digital archives and networks enable efficient
image communications. Electronic image copies are of original
quality and thus the heghest qualtiy image is always available
for diagnostics and consultation.
The Planmeca Dimax digital imaging system is based on the latest
CCD technology, providing digital radiographs of high diagnostic
quality. The Dimax Ceph system expands the performance of Planmeca
ProMax to direct digital cephalometry.
In
Planmeca Promax, the side entry and the open positioning concept
minimize errors caused by incorrect patient positioning, one of
the most frequent reasons for failed radiographs. A triple laser
beam system accurately indicates the correct anatomical positioning
points.
Side entry allows easy access to the X-ray unit for all types
of patients. The exposure can be performed with a standing patient,
a seated patient on a wheelchair or on a hospital bed.
Each patient is an individual, whose bone and tissue thickness
varies according to his/her size, race and age. The digital Planmeca
Promax unit has the unique Automatic Gain Control (AGC), which
optimizes the sensitivity of the digital sensor to produce optimum
image quality from each individual.
Transtomography is a new digital imaging system developed by
Planmeca. Transtomography uses multiple sweep method whereas the
linear tomography uses one sweep. Transtomography combines the
translation movement with an oscillation movement where the center
of the rotation moves over the region of intrest. The layer thickness
can be adjusted like in film based linear tomography. Due to the
developed imaging method, the image of the anatomies are truthful
and information maximized.
Orthoralix 9200 X-ray system
The
new Orthoralix 9200 X-ray system from Gendex is one of the most
innovative system available today for radiological examinations
over the whole maxillo-facial structure. The Orthoralix 9200 X-ray
system has programs that allows configuring the system to the
actual diagnostic requirements. It is a professional tool designed
to provide a complete set of pre- and post-operative examinations
giving the wide range of radiographic views.

Gendex has had a long-standing experience in panoramic radiology.
The X-ray generator is driven by the microprocessor to precisely
combine rotation with forward-backward and right-left movements
in capturing panoramic and celpholometric x-rays on film. Innovative
high frequency DC generators optimizes radiation output resulting
in low patient dose. Small narrow and focus beam techniques results
in excellent visualization of antomic structures. Precise imaging
geometry and optimum beam direction yiels a continuous image that
accurately depicts the shape of the dental arch.

Intra-oral X-ray
Machines

|
Our clinics has four intraoral x-ray machines
from BlueX, Dabi Atlante and Gendex available. The intraoral
x-ray machines provide simple and fast slide x-rays that
enables our dental specialists to make the proper diagnoses
for our patients.
The beam limiting device of the BlueX intra-oral x-ray
machine allows the reduction of a patient's exposure to
radiation. Its microprocessor allows tooth type and patient
size inputs to determine time values and control radiation
dose reduction when using digital receptors. |

Dabi
Atlante's intra-oral x-ray machines are known for providing safety
and precision. Its selection of Radiography type, tooth type and
position, film and patient's age allows for better radiographic
quality and precise film exposition adjustment. Its automatic
time correction device corrects automatically the exposure time,
according to the voltage oscillations in the electrical power
source, keeping the radiation levels steady.

The Dabi Atlante's intra-oral x-ray machine has a dual collimation
system that eliminates the formation of secondary rays in the
primary beam, avoiding any unnecessary exposure to the patient
thus minimizing health risks. In addition, the camera's accidental
activation blocking mechanism prevents consecutive shooting, eliminating
unnecessary exposure to radiation and overheating.

Film Processor
Our clinic uses the Film Processor to develop our x-ray films
so that our patients get their results instantly. BIDC is equipped
with our own darkroom for film processing. The Processor is a
closed chemical system, sealing both wash water and chemistry.
It processes intraoral, panoramic and cephalometric films. Temperature,
time and film drying are fully automatic allowing for quality
x-ray film processing.
